There are some conversations that you would never in a million years think you would have with your children.
Like, could you ever imagine telling your child that, no, they cannot have any oatmeal? No? Well...
Bryon doesn't have a very diverse diet.
He eats oatmeal, Stage 3 Gerber Turkey Rice and Vegetable, Vegetable Chicken, or Vegetable Turkey, pudding, and yogurt. As long as it's not fruit on the bottom. He hates that.
Now, I have no real problems with oatmeal. Not my thing, but hey, whatever.
My problem is when my 6 year old has a desire to power through an entire box in one day.
Seriously.
He eats 2 packets at a time, and some days, if it were up to him, it's all he would eat. All. Day.
Our conversations go something like this:
Me: "Bryon, do you want chicken or turkey for lunch?"
Bryon: "Oatmeal."
Me: "No, Bry. Chicken or Turkey?"
Bryon: "Turkey or Oatmeal? Oatmeal. Ok."
Now your natural thoughts are:
1. Aw, that's so cute.
2. Gee, Tenille, just let the kid eat oatmeal.
Here's the thing. It is very, very cute. It's pretty darling. Especially since conversations with Bryon are few and far between.
However: 10 packets of oatmeal in one day will do one of two things. Either stop him up like nobody's business, or, if it happens to be "high fiber" oatmeal, well, I don't think I have to tell you.
If you wanna clean up the aftermath of all that, you're welcome to. :)
